When a school district plans a facility upgrade, it’s more than just concrete, dirt, and pipes — it’s about creating spaces where students can grow, compete, and thrive. That’s exactly what went into the Throwing Park at North Canton Hoover High School, and our crew at Everlast Landscape Group was there every step of the way.

This project wasn’t small. It was heavy, precise, and required excavation and land development expertise.

Here’s what went into it:

  • 35,000 yards of dirt moved and compacted — layered up to 9 feet to create elevations and competition-ready throwing areas. Every cut and fill required careful planning and heavy machinery.

  • 7-acre stormwater system installed — connected to the city’s infrastructure to manage runoff, prevent flooding, and allow the school to expand in the future.

  • New roadway graded — connecting the north and south sides of the athletic facility, prepped for future paving.

  • Shot put and discus lanes built to state-record distances — designed with athletes in mind, from middle school to varsity, giving them the room to train, compete, and even break records.

  • 16-foot berms stacked — all drainage integrated to keep the field functional in any weather.

This was a true team effort: dozers, excavators, compactors, and crews working in sync to move massive amounts of dirt, install infrastructure, and deliver a facility that will serve athletes and the community for decades.

For the students, this means better training and competition spaces. For the school district, it means long-term infrastructure that supports growth and safety. And for the community, it means smarter stormwater management and an upgraded athletic facility that can host events and bring people together.

Our team is proud to deliver precision, scale, and durability on projects like this. If you’ve ever wondered what it takes to move thousands of cubic yards of dirt, grade roads, install massive drainage systems, and build competition-ready athletic facilities, this project shows it all in action.
