Mount Vernon, OH – May 2025 — This Memorial Day weekend, families across Mount Vernon experienced the grand opening of Captain Hunter’s Landing, a pirate-themed splash pad located in the heart of Riverside Park. Designed to be a free, fun, and accessible space for kids of all ages, the splash pad is more than just a seasonal attraction — it's a community investment. Everlast Landscape Group is proud to have played a central role in bringing this community’s vision to life.
On Track for a Community Milestone
With warmer weather fast approaching, delivering the project by warm-weather deadline was critical. Everlast Landscape Group was brought on as the lead site contractor — full-site preparation, underground utility installation, drainage systems, concrete flatwork, and final grading. Our team remained laser-focused on safety, sequencing, and quality throughout the build, ensuring that everything stayed on track. Thanks to precise coordination and partners like Rain Drop Products and the City of Mount Vernon, we hit every milestone — allowing the splash pad to open right on schedule for Memorial Day weekend.
More Than Landscapers: Building for Communities
At Everlast, we specialize in municipal and public-use projects, and we understand that these developments are about more than aesthetics — they’re about functionality, accessibility, and long-term value. Our work at Riverside Park reflects a core belief we bring to every project: We don’t just shape landscapes. We help shape communities.
This new splash pad will serve as a free recreational resource, just a half-mile from Public Square and within walking or biking distance to Ariel-Foundation Park and downtown Mount Vernon. Families will find ample free parking, ADA accessibility, a fenced-in perimeter for safety, and the added bonus of homemade Round Hill Dairy ice cream at Riverside Dairy just steps across the road.

The Everlast Edge: Precision. Integrity. Impact.
Every shovel of dirt and every yard of concrete poured is a reflection of our commitment to:
Sustainability
Innovation
Culture
Precision
We take pride in knowing our crews worked tirelessly, efficiently, and safely to complete this project that will be enjoyed by thousands. Delivering this splash pad isn’t just a job well done — it's a contribution to the city’s growth, family life, and future generations.
We’re thankful to the City of Mount Vernon and our project partners for trusting Everlast Landscape Group with this meaningful project.
